Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2
And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD, and said, "If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands, then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering." So Jephthah advanced toward the people of Ammon to fight against them, and the LORD delivered them into his hands. And he defeated them from Aroer as far as Minnith--twenty cities--and to Abel Keramim, with a very great slaughter. Thus the people of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, there was his daughter, coming out to meet him with timbrels and dancing; and she was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter. Judges 11:30-34
Jephthah was quick to make a vow to God, that if the people of Ammon would be delivered into his hands, then he will offer up a burnt offering of whatever the first thing that comes out of the doors of his house when he returned home... and his young daughter walked out.
When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed-- Better not to vow than to vow and not pay. Ecclesiastes 5:4-5
Do you feel trapped with your back against a wall? Anyone who was pledged to the Lord could be redeemed, bought back. A female between 5-20 yrs old, 10 Shekels. Jesus provided The Way for us to be redeemed from sin and death. He bought us with His body and blood. Let your yes be yes. -Pastor Mike
Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only to their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ’s Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.
We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.
We believe worship of God is always fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
